Good news! Found my tappet screw. Bad news! Guess where my valve is?
That’s a chunk of valve retainer. After I saw that I used a mirror to get a better look at the valve stem and, oh, wait, where is it? Oh there it is. With the rest of the valve embedded in the piston. COOL . Got instantly approved for Paypal Credit which gives 6 months at 0% to pay stuff off up to $1000. Gonna buy a $500 Ninja 500 engine ($1 per CC what a bargain!) with that and slap it in here. I plan on taking a part time evening mechanic job and need my motorcycle to get there.

I hope you have some good karma coming down the pike.

I forget, do you still have any form of car now that the Jag is going / gone?

you’re going to put the Ninja 500 motor in your bike?
why not just ride the Ninja?

Oh bugger. No love for an LS? Ninja swap sounds just a little too practical.

Ninja 500 engine. Not a whole bike.

“instead of the $500 fix just save up and do the $2000 alternative! It’s just that easy!”

Yeah I’ll just magically come up with 4x the money when I can’t even come up with $500 that’s no problem I think there’s a flock of money trees around here somewhere I can go pick it off of.
Eat a dick. You sound like my fucking boss.

It’s a direct swap. The engines are identical except for the cam profile and pistons of the Ninja.

says the kid who has bought and sold more cars in the past year to add up to more than 2k.

Yeah it’s almost like $2k over a long period of time is different than cheaper stuff when immediate solutions are required hmmm.
Need my bike working within a week. Not a new bike four months from now.

Could just get a cheap ecobox to tide you over with something if need be?

Don’t have that kind of dough. Having to finance a $500 engine. Dunno why people keep suggesting I “just get a car” or “just get a more reliable/newer/nicer bike”. I can’t afford a $500 engine wtf makes people think I can afford 4x that much?

Sorry bud, didn’t mean to upset you! I missed the part about you financing it! I meant nothing by it.
Is the Jag already sold?

Jag was traded for this bike. The trans went out and I was rapidly approaching my deadline for when it had to be gone so I traded it for a nonrunning ‘96 Kawasaki Vulcan 500 with 14k miles, spent weeks cleaning the carbs of dried RTV (seriously wtf?) and got like two weeks out of it before this happened. So right now Michaela and I are sharing the Miata. Luckily her school schedule just changed a couple weeks ago and we can kinda make that work. Need my bike back so I can take this part time mechanic thing.
